I spent a long time saying affirmations and still getting nowhere. I followed what other experts said to do but still saw no results.
I wanted to have all my ducks in a row before I got started…… Well not even all of them but at least a few and it still didn’t make a difference. My bank account month after month told me the same story that no matter what I did it wouldn’t be enough.
Do you know what it’s like to waver back and forth believing that it could be possible for you then when your circumstances say otherwise you then find yourself doubting, questioning whether you’ll get to where you want to go. You’re motivated to keep going but you find yourself not following through on your initial commitments? (Psst…my follow through used to be ‘not-so-good’)
Fear stops you from doing what you desire the most in your heart because the defeating story you’ve created seems so real.
This is me for a very loooong time. I was in the game then I would pull myself out of the game quicker than you can say success!!!? I was one of those people that try to work on her inner game at large. When people asked me what I’ve done to stay in the game, overcome procrastination, fear and excuses” (that all seem never-ending) I tell them unequivocally that it was an inner game. PERIOD!!!
Do you realize, that 40% of the population experience financial loss due to procrastination? Yikes!!! If you experience procrastination you are not alone and there is more to it than you might think. It downright sabotages any chance to your success.
Think about it! How often do you procrastinate? How long have you been procrastinating? Do you make excuses after you’ve procrastinated to make you feel better and remind yourself that it is okay and there’s always next time? Or maybe you are one who beat yourself up? Always telling yourself it’s not good enough or you’re not good enough?
What if you could go about your business (or life) productively on a daily basis while developing a personal action plan to increase results that leaves you feeling accomplished. Your belief rises in yourself, confidence and courage flourishes drawing in your perfect clients (or connections) and big consistent paydays?
Trust me, it’s an amazing feeling on a daily basis to complete tasks that you know are moving your business (or life) forward and doing it without overwhelmed. All at the same time rewarding yourself for the small steps and craving million-dollar habits that will surely create the results you desire.
There are steps and tools to not only overcome the very thing that gets in your way which is what will explore in our time together. Steps to overcome the fear that comes up to hold you back from what you are capable of.
Christmas Message for You from the Michael Thornley Organisation
Well it is now Christmas Eve here in Australia, thus I would like to wish you, my friends, a most wonderful and joyous Christmas.
It will be a different and difficult Christmas for many of us this year with some of our loved ones not with us. Yet it is the Spirit of Christmas that I wish to gift to you all tonight, regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs and backgrounds.
And so I am sharing and spreading the love with you at this time. A HUGE Aussie Bear Hug to you all …… Michael
Live and Love in the moment is a thought process that many of us adopt as we grow older.
We learn that, whilst we should endeavour to learn from our past, we should not dwell on the negatives but draw on the positives of the experience (there is always at least one positive in every situation).
AND nor should we have regrets….. frankly I have never had regrets but I have certainly had some HUGE learning experiences in my life 😉
Along with living and loving in the moment, what we can also do to enhance our life’s journey is to have dreams. And when I say dreams I mean the personal goals we set for our future. Be excited and make plans but be flexible as your goals evolve.
In the interim just live and love in the moment. Be grateful for what you have; love those who sincerely support you for being the person you are; welcome opportunities and try new experiences that will help you grow. And don’t forget to learn something new each and everyday 🙂
Every year I have a digital free holiday. This time a few years ago I turned off my phone and travelled around Myanmar (Burma) for three weeks. There was no point in taking my phone with me as there was very little phone or wifi access. Scary, yet liberating at the same time.
Just a few weeks ago I went on a yoga retreat and decided to use the opportunity do a digital detox. Surprisingly, not only was I the only one who turned all of my devices off, I was the only one who thought to do it. Even the teacher openly used her phone.
Addicted to digital Over 60% of people admit to being addicted to the internet and their devices. I really think it’s worth asking the question…would I find it difficult to not take my phone with me on holidays, to grab a coffee, to go for a walk, to go to bed, to…?
I check my email first thing and last thing in the day – as I do the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram twirl. Like most professionals, I spend up to 10 hours a day online.
Our constant need for new stimulation, endless access to information and social connection is changing our brains. It’s impacting our long-term memory as well as our wellbeing.
At times I wonder if our addiction to digital is making us to lead lives that are a centimetre deep, and a kilometre wide.
Do nothing. Be bored. An amazing thing happens when you are not constantly digitally stimulated. Your mind quiets down. When was the last time you experienced that?
Be brave, and feel the sensation of being bored. Don’t pick up the phone. Just daydream instead. Even try meditation.
The internet is a significant part of my life. Without it I wouldn’t have a business. For me, it’s not going away, and I don’t want it to go away! But in addition to having a digital free holiday a year, I am working on creating digital free rituals at home. It’s a work in progress.
I hope you have a wonderful time over holidays (with or without digital). I’m off to Hawaii with friends, and trust me there will be digital – heaps of cocktail, sunset and selfie shots! See you in the New Year.
Our guest video blog today is from one of my Mentors, a young and very successful entreprenuer Justin Atlan. Whilst he is specifically referring to how you view your Business, I believe we can adopt this concept and apply it to our personal lives as well. Enjoy 🙂
