“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.”
This is so true and a mistake that we all make, a lesson we all need to learn. We must differentiate between what makes us happy rather than just who brings us happiness. Many actually bring us happiness in varying degrees throughout our lives.
We need to place an emphasis on the reasons for the happiness not on needing a person but actually wanting them if it will add to our happiness. That is, what aspect of them makes us happy and thus allows us to attain our goal in reaching an extra level of happiness. Only then should we welcome that person into our inner sanctum to enhance who we are. We should never be dependent on that person to give us our total ‘quota’ of happiness. In a relationship, one should be happy in themselves first and only then share in a greater happiness together with another.
Too many rely totally on others for their own happiness. Yet it must be about about self love and being content with oneself first and foremost. To have no self worth or lacking self love can leave a hollow as people invariably come and go in your lives….. that is how life is. A cliche yes but a truth…… a reality.
Set your goals to achieve for yourself…invite others into your life if they can enhance your goals…..be independent and not co-dependant!
