Synchronicity – signs, signs, everywhere are signs

 Synchronicity – ” the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.”  ….or do they?

Seeing ‘signs’ or recognising  interrelated occurrences happens to all of us.  I do not think that anyone could deny this has not happened at least once in their lives. And for many of us it has occurred on numerous occasions.

So why does it happen? Well there any many reasons, theories and belief systems that offer an explanation. Yet regardless of your own personal view on this, I am sure that we all agree that it can and does happen.

Research has confirmed Synchronicity?

It happens to everyone sooner or later: A certain number will just pop up wherever you go; an old friend you haven’t seen in 20 years since high school contacts you  the very  same day you’re looking at their picture in a school yearbook; you’re singing a song and you turn on the radio and there is that  same song is playing….  the list is endless.

Many simply say “oh it is just a co-incidence’. Well let me ask you ‘How many co-incidences are happening in your life?’ Can it ALL be a co-incidence?

Yet others might think of it in terms of the odds. If there is a one-in-a-million chance of that particular coincidence happening, why make such a big deal of it? For example, somebody has to win the lottery! I accept that this viewpoint has a certain validity as synchronicity is part and parcel of physical laws. It doesn’t defy the natural order of events…. it simply raises more questions than can easily be answered by a cause-and-effect equation.

So when synchronicity happens, many people overlook it or call it something else. They might say, “I got lucky,”  or “It came out of the blue.”. Then when asked if they have experienced synchronicity, they can’t remember any. All those incidents are filed away in their sub-conscious, but under the category of luck.

” We experience synchronicity most often when we’re open and aware, which in turn is affected by the outer conditions in which we find ourselves and the inner conditions in which we put ourselves. ”

  • Special circumstances such as births, deaths, and times of upheaval are outer conditions that push us toward openness because, as the ground shifts beneath our feet, we feel more vulnerable.
  • Mundane circumstances of daily life can be rich with synchronicity if we have the right inner conditions—if we make ourselves more open to the world through personal awareness and inner work.

Strings of Synchronicities

When we are beginning a relationship for example, synchronicity seems to appear all over the place. We feel light-headed, happy, open; the world is smiling back at us, giving the relationship a sense of destiny and ‘producing signs.

As the song goes ‘Signs, signs everywhere a sign” and for me I place allot of importance on this. I see the Universe is guiding me and confirming that I am on the right path. Others may call it God, spirit or some other entity or ideal. Yet it all comes down to ‘It actually happens’.

The sceptics may still call it a coincidence, yet by calling it something they are acknowledging it is happening 🙂 I rest my case 😉

Social Media – a great way to make new friends

Over the years Social Media has been blamed for many things such as feeding peoples addictive behaviour; creating face to face communication breakdown; the breaking up of marriages etc. It is not Social Media that is to blame but the choices you as an individual make. In most cases it is used as an excuse for all these social issues.

However I do acknowledge that most of us including myself check our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram accounts daily. Yet it is a means of keeping in touch with our family and friends and what is happening in the world. We used to spend hours watching TV, reading newspapers, writing letters or talking on the phone. Now we have instant access 24/7 the world over and that is an incredible advancement in communication…. we simply need to be sensible in how we utilise this service.

I personally have found Social media to be a godsend at times in my life when I have experienced periods of loneliness or in times of stress and hardship. In using Facebook as an example, I have found like-minded and empathetic people around the world who have been ‘on-line’ friends for years. And in my opinion they are true friends whether you have had the pleasure to meet them face to face or not.

Social media allows you to share your experiences and adventures and our photographs of family and friends and our interaction with others will tell you allot about that particular person. The old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words runs true. In the majority of cases I can judge the calibre’ of the person by the  subject matter of their photographs along with the types of  memes (pictures with messages written on them) and the various posts that they share.

And I have confirmed my ‘intuition’ by meeting many of my Facebook friends from all over the world and as many of you know, I am currently meeting and staying with some of these  ‘Facebook’ friends for the very first time. They have entrusted their own instinct and intuition from having  known me on-line for many years………. And I am most humbled and blessed for their trust in me. And so I have now enhanced many of these friendships with people that I would most likely never have met had it not been for Social media.

Of course to clarify, many ‘friends’ on Social Media are just acquaintances so to speak. However my point is that Social Media can indeed be a positive experience provided you are sensible and practical in it’s application and inclusion in your daily routine.

My boss tried to kill me (and what I did to him next)

True story: Back in 2007, I was flying a routine logistics mission with my commanding officer who, like me, was a combat-decorated and very seasoned aviator.

The mission was simple: fly from sunny San Diego to Fresno, California.

Easy day.

Except…

When we took off out of San Diego, it was the typical postcard weather: sunny, light breeze off the ocean, gorgeous.

When we approached Fresno an hour later…dense fog. For miles. And it was our turn to land.

My commanding officer (“Skipper” as we called him) was flying the approach while I sat in the right seat and backed him up by placing my hands gently on the controls.

As we descended, we plunged straight into the dense fog and entered the disorienting world of instrument flight; the Skipper was laser focused on the instruments as I kept a watchful eye out the window for the moment we broke through the fog.

And then, it happened. The most terrifying moment of my entire flight career.

I felt the Skipper pull a little too much power, and the aircraft sank at an alarming rate of decent. As we fell out of the fog, my heart slammed to a stop as I looked up to see…a tree.

Instinctively, I yelled, “WAVE OFF!” and shoved the throttles full forward.

Skipper pulled back on the controls and the airplane roared to the sky…missing the ground by mere feet.

We came within a fraction of a second of slamming into the ground, and leaving behind widows, orphans and a smoking hole in the ground.

There was no time to discuss, not time to negotiate and no time to consider options. We survived a near catastrophe because of a very important behavior: I questioned my boss’s authority.

And yes, he openly encouraged that. That’s what exceptional Leaders do.

Of course, there’s a “right” way and a host of ineffective ways to do it. And I discuss this in-depth on today’s episode of The High-Altitude Mentorship Show™ podcast:

http://jtdebolt.com/entrepreneurship/why-you-should-question-authority/

Look, this is an important trait for High-Performers, especially in today’s “sheeple” society, where most people blindly follow celebrities, politicians and self-appointed “experts”.

Just because the “gurus” and “thought leaders” are pumping others full of sentiment and “follow your bliss” propaganda doesn’t mean you have eat what they’re shoveling.

Think critically.
Wake up.
Keep your head on a swivel.
And question these “experts” always.

Including (and especially) me.

It may never come down to a life-and-death decision, but questioning authority will at the very least keep you from falling asleep at the wheel, blindly following flimsy rhetoric and prevent you from creating a “smoking hole” in the ground of your business, career or life.

You have my permission to question authority (not that you needed it). Now we’ll see what you do with it.

Fly High. Fly Fast. Fly Far.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HI!
Have you ever wanted to have all your “ducks in a row” before you got started?
Have you found yourself waiting until it’s the right time before you begin?
Have you ever made excuses for why you can’t get started or that it’s not the right time or you don’t have the money?
News flash….it will never be the right time…EVER!!!
You’ll never have enough money, you’ll always find a reason why it’s not a good time to get started. I’m here to tell you that there will never really be a good time, especially when you’re stepping outside you’re comfort zone.
How can you start without it being perfect. That’s what this audio training I am offering you today is all about.
With every journey it starts with a single step – Just get started
Sometimes our goals seem so big we are paralyzed and never get started. Just like the saying goes “How do you eat an elephant? Take one bite at time.”
If you took one step every day towards your goals where do you think you’d be in 1 week, 1 month 1 year later? That elephant wouldn’t seem so big after all. You would be farther ahead than if you continued to get things right, make it perfect, etc.
Ask yourself what your commitment is. Ask yourself if you’re acting based on your commitment. Are you closer than you were in January?
How badly do you want what you want? There is a difference between interested and committed. Are you committed? Interested is when you think it’s a good idea and committed is when you’ll do what’s seem hard.
What can you do today just to keep the movement going? What can you do to start imperfectly? Are you willing to be imperfect?
Your goals and dreams matter and there is someone that is waiting for you to step out and just get started. I invite you to listen to an audio I recorded last summer and is so relevant today.
If you’d like to learn more about how I’ve helped women just like you overcome obstacles, build a solid faith so your mindset is up levelled so you can start living on-purpose and truly have it all, then reply to this email. We can jump on a call and I can find out where you’re at so I can give you a tip, tool or strategy in right direction and you can see if we’re a good fit.
Worse than a crying baby on an airplane
Today’s guest post is by one of my Business Coaches J T DeBolt yet it applies to both Business and Life so I thought I would share it with you here today 🙂
Michael Ellis Thornley
Writer & Entrepreneur
“If you’ve ever flown on a commercial flight—domestic or international—you’ve invariably encountered fussy-baby-on-the-same-flight syndrome. I fly a lot for business. A lot.
And I can tell you that I’ve experienced the all-too-upset baby who struggles to clear their ears, battles baby teeth breaching the gums, and the “gas bubble meltdown” that leads to incessant and utterly-unrelenting screaming and crying.
 Much like a business just getting off the ground… or even getting to the next level, your business can suffer from some of these metaphorical traits.
It can be pretty bad. But you know what’s worse?
Self-Righteous Business Traveler who can’t understand why that parent
“won’t shut the kids up”.
Self-Absorbed Millennial, whose “vast life experience” qualifies them to question why the parent(s) “won’t just do something about” the crying and who huffs and puffs and glares in the direction of the baby.
Or the incensed retirees who feel entitled to their peace and quiet on their flight to Maui, since they “sacrificed’ for a life with no children of their own for a career that allows them tor travel freely.
 These arm-chair quarterbacks of business just don’t get it.
They’ve never tried building a business from scratch let alone sticking to it. They just don’t understand why you don’t quit and go back to a “safe, secure” job (as if there is such a thing anymore).
And then there’s the rest of us. Who have kids. Who have businesses.
Who’ve been there.
We’ve earned our 10,000 steps on the fitness tracker from walking the kid
up…and down…and up…and down the aisle.
Doing the work. Putting in the time.
We’ve arm-wrestled the disgusting diaper in the phone-booth-size lavatory, fumbled for the burp cloth mere seconds too late to catch the cascade of the recent meal all over our (once) clean shirts.
We’ve been there. And we don’t bitch and complain.
We send a little prayer, perhaps an encouraging smile or even an offer to help if we can.
We are the only ones qualified to talk smack, and yet, we don’t. We’ve faced those challenges head-on in business and yet, we keep charging forth in spite of the challenges that arise.
Because we get it.
That’s the kind of life experience you have to have in order to help people rise to a higher level of success in business and life.
Not the “Johnny/Jenny-Come-Lately” fake-it-till-you-make-it wannabe. Not the recently “certified”  expert with zero mileage on the coaching odometer.
Real people. Real experience. Real solutions.
I’ll introduce you to my own squadron of these amazing folks soon, but in the meantime, you can tap real-world wisdom gleaned from the School of Hard Knocks by getting hooked up with the next edition of Mach 1 Mastery™.
It’s going to the be kind of training you need to quiet the screaming baby in your business and get the results you’ve been working so hard for.
Life is always going to throw the fussy-baby-on-the-plane scenario at you.
How you deal with it is up to you.”
That feeling you get when a cop starts to follow you
Our guest Blogger today is J T DeBolt.
I am sharing an Email he sent me which is relevant to us all 🙂
Michael EllisThornley
‘Aspire to Inspire before you Expire’
“Last summer on a family road trip I saw a guy pulled over on the side of the road in a late model Hyundai. It was the typical scene:
The cop, with his lights flashing and hand on holster, was leaning on the roof of the car as the poor guy fumbled for his driver’s license and whatever else the cop asked him for.
The moment barely registered in my sleepy mind before I noticed that a different cop was now following me. I had been getting drowsy from a long drive and was no doubt weaving like a guy with nine beers in him.
What happened next is probably something you’ve experienced once or twice in your life.
Instantly wide awake, I scanned my instruments and saw that my speed was about two ticks over the speed limit; well within legal range. I felt my foot lighten and the engine give in just a bit.
My thoughts went from “License is up to date, registration is good, insurance is paid in full…” to “What’s to worry about? to “WHAT’S THE DEAL?!?!”
Then came the lights.. Not the cop’s headlights, or the flashing red and blue overheads… but all of them.
Instantly my brain lit up and flooded my bloodstream with adrenaline…just as the cop pulled away and raced off to whatever crisis she’d been dispatched to.
Damn…that was close. And I was left feeling a mixture of relief, annoyance and exhaustion as my adrenaline dissipated. (And maybe a hint of “amused”…)
Ever experienced that?
Almost everyone has, and not just while sitting behind the wheel of an automobile.
Sometimes, we see evidence of someone going through a tough time; could be a broken relationship, a career rut, a financial flatline or a stagnating business. We slow down and observe from the relative safety of our own “driver’s seat”…until the cop pulls in behind us.
We look down at our metaphorical speedometer and see that we’ve been racing along mindlessly and fallen behind on our goals.
We realize our driver’s license of life has expired due to our own negligence and inattentiveness.
And due to our focus on the “small” stuff (bills, nagging neighbors, bickering family members, increasing waistlines…) we start to drift out of the lane that is supposed to take us to our dream, to our mission.
We are literally asleep at the wheel of our business and life. And now that cop called REALITY is pulling us over. Or worse; we never wake up, and drive off into the oblivion of a mediocre life.
You can either fight through it on your own, mask the sleepiness with the “caffeine” of another escapism TV program or social media binge…
…Or you can wake up. For good!”
Fly High. Fly Fast. Fly Far.
Living the Laptop Lifestyle
Firstly, you may be asking what is ‘Living the Laptop Lifestyle’?
Well it is exactly as is suggested by the title……. you can earn an income via your computer.
With a Laptop and Internet connection you can virtually work from anywhere in the world!
This is what I do and there are many ways of achieving this.
Let’s first look at what the laptop lifestyle is not. The Laptop Lifestyle is NOT about working for other people. You don’t have to work for anyone else – it is just you and your laptop computer, making money from wherever you happen to be.
  • No boss
  • No clients ( you will have customers usually, but that is a different mindset)
  • No one telling you what to do
Living the laptop lifestyle you CAN make a difference in the world, your world and your friends and families world 🙂
The laptop lifestyle is a huge life change. It’s a way to ‘retire’ now and spend more time doing the things you want to do.
Living the laptop lifestyle allows you turn a hobby into a full-time income. You can actually start part-time, with no need to quit your job immediately (and I recommend that you commence this way), so there’s no fear about making the transition from being a full-time employee to a part-time online entrepreneur.
So is the laptop lifestyle for you?
If you answer YES to ANY of the following questions, then you NEED the laptop lifestyle:
  • Is going to work something you suffer through all week so you can enjoy the weekends?
  • Do you bury your dreams and passions so you can chase a paycheck every week?
  • Do you spend Sundays with a feeling of dread because you know Monday is right around the corner?
  • Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired of going to work every day?
Now as a caveat to the above, you must know that it is not a matter of simply creating a webpage and getting rich quick. It requires hard work, many hours of marketing and often  building your own ‘Brand’/ profile (although you do NOT need your own products to sell……. see Affiliate Marketing
However with the right tools and advice and following in the footsteps of those that are successful…AND there are indeed many…. you too can be living the Laptop Lifestyle like I am 🙂
Growth Mindset or Closed Mindset
Our guest blogger today is Yuri Elhaim. I recently received an Email from him and I would like to  share it with you here because it not only applies to a business mindset, but also to the potential outcome of one’s personal life.
Ask yourself…. Do you have a ‘growth mindset’ or a ‘closed mindset’?
How you interpret challenges, setbacks, and criticism is your choice. You can interpret them in a fixed mindset as signs that your fixed talents or abilities are lacking. Or you can interpret them in a growth mindset as signs that you need to ramp up your strategies and effort, stretch yourself, and expand your abilities. It’s up to you.
Michael Ellis Thornley
Creator of the Wealth Flow Formula
‘Aspire to Inspire before you Expire’
Here’s the deal:  Your business (and your personal life) is exactly where it is based on one thing and one thing only…
Your thoughts.
Without going into a big metaphysical lesson here, let me just
say that the biggest difference between those who achieve
greatness vs. those that settle for mediocrity is little more
than mindset.
You get exactly what you think about most of the time.
And so I challenge you to start thinking bigger because amazing
things can happen when you do.
The two forces that make anything “real” are desire and belief.
By focusing on what you want, instead of what currently is…
And actually believing you can have it, you’ll be amazed at what
happens. 🙂
Case in point:
‘Yesterday, my brother (who runs operations for us), told me that
one of the largest food distributors in Canada is excited to
produce and distribute our All-Day Energy Bars, which would save
us 50% off our current cost and sell nearly 10,000x as many!
They even said our bars are the BEST bars they’ve ever tasted and
likely the healthiest as well (at 14g of protein and 16g of fiber
with little to no sugar).
So we’re in the process of something HUGE.
And, out of the blue, 2 BIG (and separate) opportunities for
monster media buyers to make a ton of sales for 2 of our other
products fell into my lap just a few weeks ago’.
Big things are happening and I don’t say this to boast but to
illustrate what’s possible when you think big.
How did this all come about?…………. I honestly don’t know.
But for months I’ve been telling myself and visualizing that “I
expect and receive miracles in my life every day”…And that…“I always attract the right people to help my business grow.” (or attract positive people into your life if you believe in what you ask for!)
Sometimes all we need to focus on is the WHAT.
  • Let the HOW take care of itself………you have the gift to create magic
    out of thin air. And your mind is where it all starts.
  • Don’t be limited by those around you.
  • Break through the status quo and challenge yourself to think and
    believe bigger.
  • Go after what you want because if you can think it and believe,
    you WILL achieve. It’s law!
When Opportunity Knocks- ANSWER THE DOOR!
Too often, the opportunity knocks, but by the time you push back the chain, push back the bolt, unhook the two locks and shut off the burglar alarm, it’s too late.” Rita Coolidge
When opportunity knocks, open the door and welcome it in because it may not knock a second time.
This is so true in life whether it be with a Business or a Personal Relationship.
Sometimes opportunity knocks, but most of the time it sneaks up and then quietly steals away”…Doug Larson
Many often take far too long to way up the pros and cons of an opportunity and lose out completely on that particular opportunity. Conversely, others rush on in before giving the opportunity some sensible consideration. It is actually a very fine balance between the two and one that I have more often than not, tipped the wrong way.
But you know, overall I would say that I have enjoyed the journey and whilst I have been burnt, bitten,stung and hung, drawn and quartered at times 😉 I have NO REGRETS!
Of course I have experienced HUGE learning curves but never regrets!
I would rather have had the experience in order to learn and grow from…. rather than to sit back in a shell and wonder ‘what if’.
The main issue with making decisions about ‘opportunities’ is the constant battle between the heart and the head. It is an age old battle that our inner self struggles with and one that causes endless debate amongst us.
However a third modifying influence joins the furore as referee between so called logic of the brain and the emotional decision of the heart…… That is what we call the ‘gut feeling’ or Soul. I have found that if I truly listen to my Soul then I will make the right decision. It may be wrong timing in relation to your current situation however reach out NOW and at the very least, hold onto the possibility rather than miss out forever!!
