Your habits determine your future.
Is that encouraging for you to hear? For me, it is a wakeup call to allow me to look into my life and assess where I am and what I need to shift.
You have one life and you have choice to shift whatever is needed to get you closer to where you want to go.
Successful people have successful habits, unsuccessful people don’t!
Without any condemnation or judgement, this is a simple statement to assess where you are now and what we can do to change.
You see, your brain likes to keep you safe. You’ve survived safe and you will again. This is the reason why it can be ever so difficult to ingrain that new habit into place. You’re used to doing that old thing and now you’re asking your brain to do something that is unfamiliar and to it, it is like risking your life cause you never know what will be on other side.
What if you could acknowledge the fear you have and then remember your commitment around your goal, access the courage from that place and do it afraid or do it even if it’s hard?
What then would be the outcome?
Would you have died? Fainted? Or maybe you will have a new respect for yourself, a new found confidence and a sense of accomplishment that you can do this.
Make a list of habits that keep you unproductive. Really think about it because your habits determine your quality of life. These bad habits or obstacles to your goals act as a springboard to your future success, because your habits determine your success.
If you don’t know what’s holding you back how do you know what new habits to create for more productive habits? You won’t and you can’t.
I encourage to ask others around you what habits do they think hold you back. Many times we don’t see what others see in us.
Once you’ve determined what bad habits you have then determine a success habit to adopt. Once you have these two then create a 3 step action plan. This plan is where you will determine 3 steps you can put into place immediately to begin to change that habit.
If it is around growing your wealth and you have a habit of not paying yourself first, saving money and increasing your fees to be paid what you’re worth. You may choose to begin to work with a money coach or a coach to improve relationship with money. You also decide to track your income you make and what you save.
This is just an example of steps that will help you to reach your goal and improve your habits. You may not see immediate changes but if you are consistent and disciplined you will see after 30 days, 90 days, 6 months and year the difference it made. Patience is key!
